Captive wolves play a vital role in educating the public and raising awareness of the issues limiting the success of their wild cousins.  Seeing a wolf up close and ‘in the flesh’ increases the likelihood of individual taking action to help dispel the myths and conceptions limiting current conservation efforts. But keeping these wolves happy in captivity requires a great deal of work and money so limiting reproduction is essential.
