Mindful Monday

Mindful Monday #4. Special Appeal – Help Find Oscar a Home!

This weeks Mindful Monday is slightly straying away from the usual focus on all things conservation, but is something very close to Howl’s heart.

A Second Chance

Everyone deserves that second chance, right? Of course they do! Howl’s best buddy needs just that! Oscar, a 3 year old Lurcher cross is in desperate need of finding his forever home, can you help?

Catching some rays!

Catching some rays!

He is an extremely friendly chap who loves nothing more than a good game of fetch and plenty of cuddles! (He gives the best ones!). He knows some basic commands and is very happy to sit for treats and lie down for a belly rub! Unfortunately he has had limited socialisation with other dogs and this has made him quite anxious with dogs he doesn’t know. This means he will need some further training with a confident owner who can give him the confidence to overcome these anxieties and help him conquer that big wide world out there.

However, he is on a training program and has made some great progress! He has made new friends at the centre through distance training, which has proved to be a great way of helping him feel more comfortable around other dogs and all his good behaviour is positively reinforced. He can now walk with some of his new found pals, further boosting his confidence. It would be fantastic if someone could carry on this success, preferably in a home with children above 15 and no cats.

If you feel you may be able to offer this special boy a home or know someone who can give him the time he needs please contact RSPCA Ashley Heath (Ringwood, UK) on 0300 123 0749 or click here for more details. To help this appeal even further, give his little smiling face a share 🙂
